The new Škoda Kamiq: Refreshed look, updated engine, and even more comprehensive safety features

Singapore, 4 September 2024 – Redesigned front and rear aprons as well as more sharply drawn headlights contribute to the increased SUV presence on the Kamiq. A comprehensive portfolio of safety features and assistance systems round off the model upgrade.

Revamped design and further enhanced visual appearance. With the Kamiq, the designers have focused on a more confident SUV presence. A sturdy silver diffuser with three openings serves as a striking underbody guard. Part of the large black diffuser is now finished in silver. The redesigned Škoda grille is now octagonal and slightly more upright in the Kamiq than before. The Kamiq’s characteristic split headlights have new proportions.

The upper element is now slimmer – a feature unique to this Škoda model. The lower headlight cluster, on the other hand, has become larger. New LED front fog lights are now embedded in the Kamiq’s Air Curtains. In the redesigned LED rear lights features animated indicators and new L-shaped light graphics.

With a total of five vibrant colours – Phoenix Orange, Moon White, Graphite Grey, Magic Black, and Race Blue – there’s a shade to suit every taste.

New sustainable interior upholstery and innovative controls The Škoda Kamiq will receive new upholstery and decorative trims using recycled fabrics for upholstery, carpeting and floor mats. Natural, renewable raw materials are also used – the door panels as well as the structural reinforcement of the headliner, for example, are partly made of hemp and kenaf fibres. The Kamiq will be suited with the Design Selection “Lodge” which comes with Suedia microfibre. “Lodge” also features copper-coloured Hot-stamping and LED ambient lighting able to switch from white to red as standard.

The refresh of the compact Škoda Kamiq also include further fine-tuning of the infotainment systems and connectivity features. The Škoda Infotainment system has a free-standing central touchscreen display with a screen diagonal of 8.25 inches and two rotary buttons; the front is glazed.

In addition to renowned Simply Clever classics such as the driver’s door umbrella holder or the tyre tread depth gauge in the fuel filler flap – now made from recycled plastic – other Simply Clever features have found their way into the upgraded Kamiq, like the smartphone pockets on the front seat backs that add to rear passengers’ convenience.

New and highly efficient 1.0 TSI three-cylinder engine, now eligible for Category A COEs For the first time in Singapore, the Kamiq is available with a 1.0-litre TSI engine from the evo2 generation of Volkswagen's EA211 engine family. Advantages include variable control of the intake and exhaust valves, an injection pressure of up to 350 bar, the high-compression Miller combustion cycle, and variable-geometry turbochargers (VGT). New features are ten-hole injectors for an even more homogeneous air-fuel mixture, as well as a new three-way catalytic converter with particulate filter. The 1.0 TSI engine delivers outputs of 85 kW (115hp) with 7-speed DSG transmission. Comprehensive equipment for enhanced active and passive safety The Škoda Kamiq is amongst the safest vehicles in its segment thanks to extremely torsion resistant body and numerous assistance systems from higher vehicle segments that come as standard. These include, for example, Front Assist with Pedestrian Monitor and Side Assist with Rear Traffic Alert. Other features on board include Cruise Control with Speed Limiter, the Tyre Pressure with Loss Indicator (TPLI) and LED front fog lights.

More than 351,000 Kamiq vehicles delivered The Škoda Kamiq has been setting standards in its vehicle segment since 2019. To date, more than 351,000 units of this successful model has rolled off the production line at Škoda’s main plant in Mladá Boleslav.
