Volkswagen, Škoda and CUPRA present a diverse range of models at VivoCity roadshow, including the new Volkswagen Golf R

Singapore, 17 March 2025 – Volkswagen Group Singapore has arrived in VivoCity for its biggest roadshow yet, featuring Volkswagen, Škoda and for the first time – CUPRA. Each brand offers exciting new models on sale, with the latest highlight being the new Volkswagen Golf R – unveiled in Singapore for the first time.

New Golf R spearheads attractive offers across all Volkswagen model lines The all-wheel drive Golf R offers the perfect mix of extreme sportiness, comfort and everyday usability. It features a sharpened and distinctive exterior design including an illuminated Volkswagen badge at the front as well as “R” style body parts and IQ.Light Matrix LED headlamps for a distinctively aggressive look.

The Golf R’s enhanced driving dynamics, exclusive standard equipment and 2.0 TSI 4-cylinder engine (245 kW / 333 PS) make it a force to be reckoned with. It offers 10 kW (14 PS) more than its predecessor, completing the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in just 4.6 seconds. The top speed is now boosted to 270 km/h with the R-Performance package, making the Golf R Volkswagen’s fastest production model. Paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox (DSG), drivers can expect relentless power on demand.

The Golf R conveys a genuine motorsport feeling with technology such as Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), which continuously reacts to the road surface and driving situation, while taking account of various elements including steering, braking and acceleration. DCC therefore always provides the highest level of driving comfort and optimum driving dynamics, with various driving profiles available to choose from.

The inherent intensity of the Golf R is cranked up with the Performance Package, featuring an exhaust system with a titanium rear muffler and a large roof spoiler. The “Warmenau” forged alloy wheels in Dark Graphite - with Volkswagen R centre caps - optimise brake cooling while enhancing presence and roadholding.

Rear-axle torque vectoring deploys power to the outside wheel during cornering. This split-second adjustment boosts the Golf R’s agility and sharpens the Golf R’s grip—delivering a more dynamic and thrilling driving experience that is both quicker and more playful. With precision-tuned sports suspension and dynamic steering, every corner becomes an opportunity for self-expression.

The interior is a welcoming environment for the driver and passengers, with Nappa perforated leather inserts on the front seats and outer rear seats, featuring premium “R” logo sports seats in front with integrated head restraints and active climate control. The Golf R’s Digital Cockpit Pro with Windshield Head-Up Display keeps the driver locked in, projecting key information directly and clearly to the line of sight.

The leather-wrapped, multi-function sports steering wheel is complete with touch control, gear-shifting paddles, and brushed stainless steel pedals for an elevated driving experience. Seamless infotainment is available with wireless App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto via the 12.9” infotainment display with “Discover” navigation, wireless charging, and four USB-C ports (up to 45W) in the front and rear.

Safety features such as the Proactive Passenger Protection System actively analyses the situation ahead, allowing for early precautions such as tightening the seatbelts and triggering the hazard lights. The Multicollision Brake System mitigates secondary collisions with smart braking technology that activates after a crash, reducing speed and activating hazard lights for visibility.

Škoda introduces the Superb Combi and Kodiaq Sportline Škoda is unveiling two special new models at VivoCity. The flagship Superb is back in its fourth generation, now in Combi form with the premium Laurin & Klement (L&K) trim. Škoda's flagship model features increased dimensions and presents itself with a smartly evolved look and a wide range of new technologies. The stylish estate model combines unparalleled space, thoughtful features and sustainable luxury for discerning drivers and passengers alike. The Superb Combi as available from SGD 222,900*.

For SUV fans who do not want to compromise on sporty looks, the new Škoda Kodiaq Sportline is now available. Its comprehensive standard equipment list includes Area View 360° and Intelligent Park Assist for confident manoeuvring and the electrically operated tailgate with Virtual Pedal for hands-free access to the boot. LED Matrix beam headlights and KESSY Advanced automatic locking and starting system come as standard too. The exterior is marked by numerous glossy black accents, which now also extend to the D-pillar. The front and rear aprons as well as the side skirts are in body colour, while wheels are exclusive to the Sportline. The interior matches the exterior theme, with Sportline trim elements throughout. CUPRA – For the rebels Following the thrilling launch of CUPRA in Singapore, the challenger brand from Barcelona is now in VivoCity for its first roadshow. Both launch models are available including the CUPRA Born - the first all-electric model from the brand and the perfect match between electrification and performance. The first of two available variants in Singapore is the CUPRA Born e-Boost, featuring agile driving dynamics and head-turning looks, with prices starting from SGD 195,900*. The high performance VZ variant is also available from SGD 225,900*.

The CUPRA Tavascan is available alongside the Born. The Tavascan is not only CUPRA’s first all-electric SUV coupe but also the inspiration for its new design language, one that will feature in electrified cars to come. The SUV coupe is available in the efficient “Endurance” variant which boasts a higher range of 568km (WLTP), as well as the sportier VZ variant that offers all-wheel drive.
